Creating an Educated Community to Serve Christ and One Another

SPIRITUAL FORMATION

We provide a Christ-centered environment where the Catholic faith is taught and lived.  Christian values are developed and the total school community is nurtured in their spiritual growth by frequent participation in liturgy, prayer and service. Our students attend religion classes each school day and participate in Mass each week.

The focus of religious instruction for Grade 2 is preparation for First Penance and First Holy Communion. In the Spring, these young students joyfully receive the Holy Eucharist for the first time. Our Grade 7 religious instruction is more advanced as our older students prepare for their Confirmation as Catholic Adults. Confirmation is usually held in November.

In addition to religious instruction, our students participate in many community projects to enhance their spiritual growth. Each fall, they raise donations for the Help the Homeless Walk campaign that directly benefits the Carpenter's Shelter in Alexandria, VA. Each month, they bring donations for the Dress Down for Charity day that provides funds to organizations fighting cancer, researching autism and filling empty shelves in local food banks.
